Here's How You Get Your Day's Work Done 3-4x Faster

The 3-Step Process That Will Make You An Efficient Machine

Have you ever started working on a project that took you a whole day to complete?

The task that could have easily been done in 1-2 hours, took you 6-8 to complete.

Lacking speed and efficiency is slowly destroying your progress and business.

The reason why it takes us so long to get something done is that we’re trying to work on too many things at the same time.

We are splitting our focus and attention.

That way, getting something done quickly and efficiently is almost impossible.

So the key to speed and efficiency is to create a predictable system.

Here’s one that works perfectly for me and many others I’ve consulted on this:

Step 1: Define Your Project & Tasks

Before you start working each day, you need to be clear on what you’re working on.

Define your big project first.

It could be:

  • A lead magnet

  • A welcome e-mail sequence

  • Ad campaign for your client

Next, get clear on tasks that will complete the project.

Let’s take the example of creating a lead magnet as our big project.

  1. Task 1 – Research & gathering information

  2. Task 2 – Writing Part 1

  3. Task 3 – Writing Part 2

  4. Task 4 – Writing Part 3

  5. Task 5 – Re-write + edit

  6. Task 6 – Graphics & packaging

One last part of this process is to also get clarity on the task itself.

For example:

  • What are you trying to research?

  • What type of information are you gathering?

  • How are you going to gather the research?

  • What does the “done” of the task look like?

Step 2: One Task At A Time

Once you have clarity, the next step is to get to work and get it done.

The key to speed, efficiency, and flow is the singular focus.

Focusing on one task until completion.

No distractions.

No multitasking.

This way, you’re 10x more likely to get it done faster and make progress.

Step 3: Work In Flow

When you’re in flow, the work gets easier.

You’ll get things done faster.

What stops most of the entrepreneurs from getting in the flow is:

  1. Lack of clarity.

  2. Internal & external distractions

  3. Multitasking

By now, you should have clarity on what to work on.

The next step is to ensure, you’re 100% focused on the task at hand.

Here’s a workflow for that.

  • Set a timer for 1-2 hours.

  • Get rid of external & internal distractions.

  • No more than 2 tabs open (no multitasking).

  • Focus music (binaural beats or deep house, no lyrics, music).

Once Task 1 is completed, you can move on to Task 2.

If Task 1 is not completed, take a break after 2 hours, and continue to work on Task 1.

This is important because the reason why it takes you 3x longer to get something done is because you start working on something and then, you task switch.

You get interrupted or you think there is something more important to work on.

That way, each task you start and never finish is 25% done or less.

And you make slower progress toward accomplishing your goals.

It’s much better to pick one thing and focus on that one thing until completion.
